The Challenge – A Paper Based Bursary System
Eighteen months ago, Activate Learning recognised the need for a significant upgrade of their till and EPoS (Electronic Point of Sale) systems. At the same time, they were searching for a modern solution for managing our student bursary meal allocations, which had long been a paper-based process.
The Solution – Integrated EPoS with Student Lanyards
Rather than investing in an entirely new infrastructure, Activate Learning sought a system that could integrate seamlessly with their existing student lanyard system. The goal was to allow students to use their lanyards to pay for meals, making the process faster and more convenient.
After thorough research, they introduced Uniware’s EPoS system, which proved to be a game-changer. Given that students have short break times, it was crucial to implement a system that could process transactions quickly and efficiently. With Uniware, the queuing process was streamlined, significantly reducing wait times and eliminating bottlenecks at peak service hours.
How It Works – A Tap-and-Go system for Bursaries
The introduction of tap-and-go functionality for bursary meals has revolutionised the student dining experience. Now, students simply tap their lanyard cards at the till, instantly accessing their allocated meal.
