A Tight Deadline and a Complex Setup
In December 2023, Tyne Coast College made the bold decision to bring their catering operations in-house, giving notice to their existing contract caterer. This shift left them with a short timeline to find and implement a new EPoS system that could handle the college’s diverse needs. With 10 tills spread across three different sites, they needed a solution that was fast, reliable, and adaptable.
Their existing hardware was approaching the end of its life, and their previous EPoS system lacked the advanced functionality required to deliver excellent customer service. One of the key requirements for Tyne Coast College was the ability to streamline menu management across their campuses. Uniware’s EPoS system enabled weekly menu rotations to be displayed on till screens, and the integration of Upay added another layer of convenience. Through the Upay app, students and staff can top up accounts, pay for meals around campus, and even order ahead to reduce queue times.
